Bis auf einige kurze Abschnitte oberhalb irgendwelcher Wehre ist die Zschopau eher nicht ruderbar. Bekannt sind zwei Ruderabschnitte:
Eine Trainingstrecke des RV "Meteor" Chemnitz 1903 befindet sich oberhalb des Wehres Lichtenwalde/Braunsdorf zwischen den Flußkilometern 4 und 6.
Und ansonsten: Die Talsperre Kriebstein, entstanden durch das Aufstauen der Zschopau, ca. eine halbe Stunde nordöstlich von Chemnitz direkt bei Mittweida.
6 traumhafte Kilometer vom Bootshaus in der sogenannten Aue (Flußkilometer 27,5) bis zur Staumauer in Kriebstein (Flußkilometer 34). Und dann wieder zurück.
